Bring your youth group or come as an individual camper.
Big Chill 1: February 3-5, 2017
Speaker: Eric Verstraete, Willing to Wait
Eric (aka Professor X) was a favorite from Summer 2016. Eric works with teens year round teaching in schools around West Michigan with the Pregnancy Resource Center. With six sons, Eric and his wife Rachel are busy teaching life lessons and raising up the next generation. Come learn from God’s Word from this gifted speaker and get ready for God’s Word to stick with you with his awesome visual examples and explanations.
Big Chill 2: February 17-19, 2017
Speaker: Pastor Jory Trim, Trinity Baptist Church GR
Pastor Jory’s whit and extensive Bible knowledge make him a Michawana call-back again and again. Jory is youth pastor at Trinity Baptist Church in Grand Rapids where he leads a growing youth group in mission trips, projects, sermon series, and all around craziness! When he isn’t teaching and hanging with teens (which is few and far between) Pastor Jory enjoys rock climbing, hiking, camping, video games, and running. A Family Camp and Big Chill speaker in the past, Jory knows his way around Michawana and is excited to be back with us!
Tubing, ice skating, the REALLY BIG CHILL polar bear jump, and hot cocoa are really just the tip of this chilly ice-berg.
What sets Big Chill apart is the chance to grow as a small group or get to know your team through Bible Study, Team Challenges, and lots of bonding!
All the crazy excitement you’ve come to expect at Michawana, with a laid back winter flare that makes you wish winter lasted all year….okay…let’s not get crazy now.
The fun kicks off Friday night at 7pm. (Pizza snack is provided later that night, but dinner is on your own before you come)
The official fun will be done after lunch at 12:30. Lunch will be a to-go style so if you want to hit the road you can, but feel free to stick around and play in the snow into the afternoon!
All accommodations are heated, some include bathrooms in the building and others have a short walk. Preferred lodging is based on first come, first served registration.
What to Bring:
Lots of warm clothes, bedding, toiletries, ice skates if you like, Bible, pen & notebook, and another pair of dry socks. (you may want to bring your swimsuit if you plan on doing the REALLY BIG CHILL).
Youth groups are welcomed and can be given lodging together, but coming in a group is not necessary. We match up individual campers with Michawana Staff. All guys and girls lodging are separated.
