Camp Michawana’s Statement of Faith

CAMP MICHAWANA INC.

VISION STATEMENT & CORE VALUES

Vision Statement:  “Camp Michawana, “Where Christ is First” is where youth, young adults, adults and community members can discover and develop lasting, personal relationship with Jesus Christ through the summer camp program, Michawana retreats, and guest groups”.

Core Values:

1)         Bible Based Evangelism and Discipleship – A passion for guests to have the opportunity to receive Jesus Christ as Savior and to continually know Him more deeply. Philippians 3:10-11

2)         Christ-like Service – Maintaining a Christ-like attitude; looking to the interests of others, in humility considering them better than ourselves in order to facilitate the work of God in their lives.  Philippians 2:3-5

3)         Genuine Hospitality – Visitors to Michawana are guests in our home and should, at all times, feel welcomed and loved.  Romans 12:12-13

4)         God-Honoring Relevance – A plan for continuous improvement in facilities and programs. 1 Corinthians 9:22-23

5)         Unified Teamwork – A commitment of high levels of involvement and ownership by all staff, guests and supporters of Michawana. Teamwork is the process and the product. Romans 12:4-6, Ephesians 4:1-3

6)         Uncompromising Integrity – A mandate to accept and promote integrity and ethics in everything we do and are, because that is what God expects of us. Mt 5:37, James 1:22-25

7)         Good Stewardship – A constant awareness that those things which have been entrusted to us by God – our natural environment, facilities and grounds, our finances and our staff – and, as such, should be treated with utmost care and consideration.  Psalm 24:1

8)         Personal Relationships -  Michawana is defined by our relationships.  They are the core of who we are – first to God, then to family, to others, and to nature around us. 1 Thessalonians 2:8

I understand that any false information in support of my application may subject me to discharge at any time during the period of my employment. If hired, I understand I will serve at the will of Camp Michawana and I agree that I shall be bound by the policies and standards of Camp Michawana as they are from time to time changed with or without notice to me. I understand that either party may terminate the employment relationship, with or without cause, at any time, for any reason. I hereby authorize Camp Michawana to deduct from each and every period of my pay any amounts necessary to offset any damages caused by me or the value of property or money entrusted to me by, or owed by me to Camp Michawana during the course of my employment. I understand that these arrangements may only be altered in writing directed to me personally by the Executive Director of Camp Michawana.
